Ooppasmoeders (Childminders)

This involves your child being looked after at the childminder's house, along with other children, which may be the childminder's own and/or other children. It provides your child a home environment that is usually quieter than a crèche, and allows for more personal attachment and more likelihood that the carer can adhere to your child's own schedule. It also allows more flexibility for lateness, if your child is ill etc. On the downside, you need to make alternative childcare arrangements if your childminder is ill, and of course there is a great responsibility on choosing and trusting a suitable childminder.

Finding a childminder can be difficult: I recommend you email or ring blue umbrella, as they can find one and sort out all the paperwork for you in English.
